A Brief History

Bethlehem’s Well Mission Society was formed in 2020. It was at the heart of a group of friends in BC Canada, to assist charitable organizations overseas associated with sister churches. Since that time we have been, with the Lord’s help and guidance, enabled to assist in many ways. May the work and distribution of Bibles and sound literature be blessed to many people, but above all that God may receive all glory and honour.

ABOUT US

Our Mission

Our Mission is to share the gospel, distribute Bibles and sound literature, assist in education and relieve poverty and its associated conditions as stated in Galatians 6:10

We do this by supporting three organizations: the Savannah Education Trust Fund, the Free Grace Evangelistic Association and the Mombasa Mission.

Statement of Faith

1: God

There is one true God who is holy, eternal, infinite, unchangeable, almighty and sovereign. Although one God, there are three co-eternal and co-equal persons in the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (the Holy Ghost). (Deuteronomy 6 v 4, 1 John 5 v 7, Leviticus 19 v 2, Malachi 3 v 6, 2 Corinthians 13 v 14, Colossians 2 v 2-9)

2: The Bible

The Bible* is the inerrant Word of God, given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God’s written revelation to man, which is complete and infallible. It is the only standard from which sound doctrine can be drawn, by which religious experience may be tested, and by which our lives should be governed. (2 Timothy 3 v 16, 2 Peter 1 v 21, Proverbs 30 v 5)

* Note: This article refers to faithful versions of the scriptures based upon the Greek Received Text and the Hebrew Masoretic Text; the faithful version in the English language is the Authorised (King James) Version.

3: Creation

God created all things in six days and by His providence maintains His created works. On the sixth day of creation God created man, male and female, from whom all mankind is descended. (Genesis 1, Exodus 20 v 11, John 1 v 1-2)

4: The Fall

Man was created pure with a never dying soul; yet because Adam and Eve disobeyed God and thereby sinned, they
and all mankind through them have become sinners, deserving God’s just punishment for ever in hell. Being utterly fallen in sin and condemned under the holy law of God, we are unable to save ourselves. Nevertheless, we are accountable to God for all our thoughts, words and actions. After death all will appear before God at the judgment seat of Christ. (Romans 3 v 23 and 5 v 12-21, 2 Corinthians 5 v 10)

5: The Gospel

The eternal Word, the only begotten Son of the Father, Jesus Christ, was sent by God the Father to redeem His people (the elect, the true Church - a number known only to God out of every nation). Christ did this by taking into union with His divine nature, a pure, holy, human nature (body and soul), being born of a virgin. He lived, suffered, shed His blood and died to atone for His people’s sins, and rose from the dead on the third day. By His perfect obedience to the holy law of God, which He fulfilled on their behalf, His people are made partakers of His imputed righteousness by sovereign grace. (John 1 v 1-14 and 3 v 16-17, Revelation 5 v 10, Matthew 1 v 20-21, 1 Corinthians 15 v 3-4, Romans 5 v 19-21, Hebrews 2 v 16-17)

6: Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ gave His life that His people should have eternal life. The risen, ascended and glorified Jesus Christ ever lives, reigns and intercedes at the right hand of God the Father for His people’s blessing and deliverance, and to bring them safely at last to heaven. Jesus Christ will return to this earth in His glory (on a day known only to God) and will judge the earth in righteousness. (John 10 v 11 and 5 v 28-29, Mark 16 v 19, Romans 8 v 31-39, Hebrews 7 v 25 and 9 v 27-28, Acts 17 v 31)

7: Regeneration

It is the work of God the Holy Spirit to quicken the sinners for whom Christ died into new life in their souls (the new birth). The Holy Spirit effectually calls and brings all of the elect to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour through faith in Him and repentance on account of their sins. Salvation is entirely of the Lord’s free and sovereign grace (not of man's free will); this is the one and only way to heaven. (Ephesians 2 v 1-8, John 3 v 5, Romans 8 v 14, John 6 v 37-44 and 14 v 6)

8: Sanctification

Every true believer saved by Christ will desire to live to God's honour and glory and to act consistently with the Word of God at all times. By God’s grace they will show forth the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. They will be always dependent upon the Lord to walk spiritually in the precepts of the Gospel, being drawn by the love of God.

Every true believer remains a sinner (though saved by grace) until death, after which their souls pass immediately into glory awaiting the resurrection of the body at Christ’s second coming. (Colossians 1 v 10 and 2 v 6, Romans 7 v 24-25, Galatians 5 v 22, Jeremiah 31 v 3, Luke 23 v 39-43, 1 Corinthians 15 v 50-58)

9: Baptism & Communion

The Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances to be observed in His Church on earth. These are Believer's Baptism (by immersion) and the Lord's Supper, the first being a prerequisite for the second. (Matthew 3 v 15-16 and 28 v 19, Colossians 2 v 12, 1 Corinthians 11 v 23-29)

10: The Lord's Day

As God rested on the seventh day, He has given us one day in seven in which to rest and worship Him. Christians should observe the first day of the week (the Lord's Day), because on this day Jesus Christ rose from the dead. (Genesis 2 v 2, Matthew 28 v 1-8, Acts 20 v 7)

11: The Great Commission

It is the calling of the true Church of Christ to spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ (in complete dependence upon the work of the Holy Spirit to save sinners) by preaching, teaching, distribution of the written word and personal witness (in word or deed). This must be in accordance with God’s Word by the calling and power of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel is to be preached to all, conveying clearly that salvation is by God's grace and power, not of man's works or efforts. (Matthew 28 v 18-20, Mark 16 v 15, John 6 v 63 and 20 v 31, 1 Corinthians 1 v 21, Acts 1 v 8, 9 v 39 and 13 v 2-4, James 1 v 27, 1 Corinthians 3 v 6-7).
